Having driven the Dalton once or twice a year since I arrived in Alaska in 1995 I can concur it is at times a dangerous road. That said it is also truly Americas last great highway adventure. 414 miles of on and off gravel roadway with hazards that include grizzly bears, moose, wolves, caribou and the ever present tractor trailers to say nothing of the snow when you pass over the Brooks mountain range or mud that is as bad as any ice covered city road… this is definitely the adventure of a lifetime.
I too found a short video on uTube that realy shows off the beauty of the highway

Never have I ever been to Alaska but it’s surely on my bucket-list to come visit Alaska and see it’s wilderness and it’s landscapes and definitely drive one of the remote and the most dangerous roads of America. The Dalton Highway.
